ITINERARY: 6 DAYS IN LITHUANIA

DAY 1: VILNIUS

  • Arrival in Vilnius;
  • Upon arrival transfer to your hotel in Vilnius;
  • Overnight in Vilnius.

DAY 2: VILNIUS

  • Breakfast at the hotel; 
  • Optional: Vilnius Old Town visit (3 hours by car and / or by foot, usually mix) 

Vilnius, known as the Baltic Baroque city, is rich in history and architecture. Founded in 1323, its Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the mix of Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque styles, visiting landmarks like Cathedral Square, Gediminas Avenue, the Parliament, Vilnius University, St. Anna’s Church, and the Gates of Dawn. This charming city offers a perfect blend of history and beauty.

  • Optional: Uzupis district visit in Vilnius (1-2 hours, can be added to Vilnius city tour)

Užupis is a quirky, artistic district in Vilnius that declared itself an independent republic in 1997. Known for its creative and free-spirited vibe, it’s home to artists, musicians, and intellectuals. Visitors can explore its colorful streets filled with street art, cozy cafes, and galleries, making it a must-visit spot for anyone seeking a unique experience in Vilnius. 

  • Optional: Vilnius Pottery workshop class (1-2 hours) 

Join a pottery workshop and craft your own unique piece with guidance from a local artisan. Perfect for beginners, this hands-on experience is a fun way to explore Lithuanian culture and take home a special souvenir!

DAY 3: TRAKAI – KAUNAS

  • Breakfast at the hotel; 
  • Optional: Excursion to Trakai castle (4 hours incl. transfers and castle visit) 

Trakai, a former capital of Lithuania, is known for its 14th-century red brick island castle, now an Art Museum and a symbol of Lithuania’s defensive architecture. Surrounded by lakes, Trakai’s old town is one of Europe’s most picturesque spots and home to the Karaites, a unique Jewish community brought from Crimea by Grand Duke Vytautas.

  • Optional: Kaunas city tour (4 hours incl. transfers and town visit) 

Kaunas is a city of contrasts, where the ancient and the modern, the tragic and the joyful, the artistic and the industrial coexist. Explore the charming Old Town, where you can admire the Gothic Kaunas Castle, the elegant Town Hall Square, and the colourful street art. 

  • Overnight in Kaunas.

DAY 4: KLAIPEDA

  • Breakfast at the hotel; 
  • Optional: Klaipeda city tour and visit to Neringa and Nida (full day 8-10 hours if from Kaunas) 

Lithuania’s third-largest city is a bustling port town situated on the Baltic Sea. With a rich history dating back to the medieval era, it has been shaped by various cultures. The city’s picturesque Old Town features charming cobblestone streets, historic buildings, and the iconic Klaipėda Castle. 

South of Klaipeda, a short ferry ride from the mainland, lies the small municipality of Neringa. Bringing together the fishing villages of Juodkranti, Preila, Pervalka and the larger resort town of Nida, nestled along the Curonian dunes, Neringa is the shining pearl in Lithuania’s crown.

Nida is a charming fishing village situated on the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its captivating natural landscapes and tranquil atmosphere, Nida is a haven for artists and nature enthusiasts.

  • Overnight in Klaipeda.

DAY 5: KLAIPEDA – VILNIUS

  • Breakfast at the hotel;
  • Morning at leisure;
  • In the afternoon drive back to Vilnius. 

DAY 6: DEPARTURE

  • Breakfast at the hotel;
  • Depending on your flight times, transfer to the airport for your flight.
